There's a balance to note here, and a reminder. Every time you handle / fire / carry / clean / load a firearm, you are always handling something that in someone else's hands is a force with which they can do very bad things. This to me should be a reminder of the importance of respecting the responsibility of being a firearms owner.
But at the same time, do we have a moment of silence when we need to use a knife to cut a steak because many people have been killed with knives? Do we have a moment of silence at baseball games because the main tool of that game has been used in so many beatings, murders, and racially loaded incidents? Do we stop at our anniversary dinner with our spouse to mourn over all the people who have died by alcohol consumption or DUI when we responsibly enjoy a glass of wine?
Fuck that. Good reality check.
The events were sad, but quit blaming an object.
